Media Advisory: Holiday Inn Demolition
Arlington County Police to close nearby roads on the day of to ensure safety.

COVID-19 NOTICE: Following CDC recommendations to avoid large gatherings, we are discouraging the public from attending. Due to the configuration of the exclusion zone there are no good viewing areas available to the public.

WHAT:
The Holiday Inn - Rosslyn, located at 1900 Fort Myer Drive, will be demolished by implosion on December 13, 2020, at 8:00 AM. Exact timing is subject to change, depending on safety, weather, and crowd control.

WHEN:
Sunday, December 13, 2020 at 8 AM; exact timing is subject to change, depending on safety, weather, and crowd control.

For safety and control of the area, the streets surrounding the Holiday Inn - Rosslyn will be closed by Arlington County Police by 6:30 AM on December 13, 2020 to pedestrian and vehicular traffic (referred to as the Exclusion Zone).

The exception to the above street closure time, would be I-66, which will remain open until 7:45 AM and the closure is anticipated to last approximately 30 minutes after the implosion. The listed re-opening times are approximate and will be dictated by the site cleanup efforts.

An area on the northwest side of the Exclusion Zone, North of Lee Highway, will be made available to members of the media only. (see map for media location.)
